The Emergency Watershed Protection Program (EWP), under the USDA will be assisting in recovery efforts to relieve imminent hazards to life and property from hurricane Irma here in Florida.  The program is administered by USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and funding is subject to Congressional appropriations.  For more information, to find out if you are eligible for a grant to clean up debris or eliminate hazards from your property, or to apply, please contact either the Florida NRCS State Office at 352-338-9500, or the local office in DeLand at 386-985-4037 #3. Who Are We?

Florida has 62 Soil and Water Conservation Districts.  These were established in 1937, under Chapter 582 Florida Statutes.  The Districts are governmental subdivisions of the State of Florida.  Volusia County is represented by the Volusia Soil & Water Conservation District, which consists of five elected supervisors.

    1. Hi John, We haven’t had a secretary who could admin the web site for quite a while. So sorry we never answered your comment. We would love to have your help in our efforts to improve water and soil quality here in Volusia County.
